Easy Southwestern Dip
- 1 (14 oz.) can tamales, drained
- 1 (15 oz.) can chili with beans
- 10 oz. Monterey Jack cheese, cubed
- 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies, drained
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1⁄4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
Instructions:
Remove and discard paper wrappers from tamales. In a medium mixing bowl, mash tamales with a fork. Add chili with beans, cheese, green chilies, onion and hot pepper sauce. Mix well. Turn mixture into a greased oven-proof baking dish. Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven 30 to 35 minutes. Garnish with cilantro or green onions. Serve warm with corn chips.
Notes:
This is a very simple recipe but it always gets rave reviews. If I take it to a party, I come back with an empty dish!
