Green Beans with Caramelized Onion

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 2 medium sized sweet onions
  • 2 tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 to 2 tsp. balsamic vinegar

Instructions:
Cook beans in boiling water for 15 minutes, drain, and chill overnight if desired. Cut onions into thin slices and cut each slice in half. Cook onion in non stick skillet over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes (do not stir). Cook stirring often 5 to 10 minutes until golden brown. Reduce heat to medium; stir in butter and brown sugar. Add greens beans; cook 5 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Toss with vinegar.
