Orange Brownies

Ingredients:
  • 1 12 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. butter, softened (2 sticks)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tsp. pure orange extract
  • 1 tsp. grated orange zest
Glaze
  • 1 c. confectioners' sugar
  • 2 T. orange juice
  • 1 tsp. grated orange zest

Instructions:

 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13 x 9 inch pan. Stir together flour, sugar and salt in a bowl; add butter, eggs, extract and zest. Using a hand-held electric mixer, beat until well blended. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 30 minutes or until light golden brown and set. Remove from oven and pierce entire cake with a fork.

Mix all the glaze ingredients together and stir until smooth. Pour glaze over hot cake. Cool and cut into squares. Makes 24 squares.
