Sausge and Bean Chowder
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. hot bulk sausage
- 2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans, (drained)
- 2 (14 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, (undrained)
- 2 cups tomato juice (V-8 is fine)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1⁄2 tsp. garlic salt
- 1⁄2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 1⁄2 tsp. pepper
- 1 cup whole kernel corn (drained)
- 1 stalk celery, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 can black beans (drained)
Instructions:
Brown the sausage and drain off the fat. Combine all the other ingredients except the black beans and simmer 1 hour. Add the black beans and simmer 1/2 hour more. Serves eight.
