Southern Praline Sauce for Ice Cream

Ingredients:
  • 1 ¼ cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 3 tbsp. margarine or butter
  • ¼ cup margarine or butter
  • 1 ¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp. flour
  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 (5oz) can evaporated milk

Instructions:
Toast pecans with the 3 tbsp. margarine in microwave on high for 5 to 6 minutes. Stir after 2 minutes. Place ¼ cup butter in bowl and melt on high for 55 sec. Add brown sugar and flour, stirring well. Gradually add corn syrup. Microwave on high for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes. Microwave an additional 2 minutes. Let cool to lukewarm. Gradually stir in milk and pecans.
